Dr. Nicole McMillan Named New Chief Clinical Officer of Breakthrough Behavior

Dr. McMillan will oversee all clinical programs, including ABA, speech therapy and psychological testing, as well as research initiatives

Breakthrough Behavior has named Dr. Nicole McMillan, PhD, BCBA-D, as the organization’s new Chief Clinical Officer. Dr. McMillan’s extensive experience as an innovator and leader in the applied behavior analysis (ABA) industry positions Breakthrough Behavior for new research opportunities, data optimization and extended clinical success in the future. Dr. McMillan will oversee all clinical programs for the organization, including ABA, speech and language therapy, and psychological testing. She will also be responsible for adhering to all clinical standards and compliance at all levels of services, as well as ensuring the fidelity of programming across Breakthrough Behavior’s treatment areas.

Throughout her tenured career, Dr. McMillan has excelled in roles across several facets of business operations and clinical management, particularly in quality assurance development and maintenance, community outreach, executing clinically relevant research projects, university program partnerships, and clinical team training. She believes strongly in a scientist-practitioner model and incorporating best practice guidelines into all levels of service delivery and clinical training.

Dr. McMillan earned her undergraduate degrees in communication sciences and disorders and psychology at Louisiana State University and her doctorate in cognitive and behavioral sciences with an emphasis in ABA from Auburn University. Dr. McMillan currently resides in St. Petersburg, Florida, with her husband and daughter. She enjoys the beach, outdoor festivals, hot yoga, cooking, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
